The Lyle Fire was dispatched to an unattended campfire yesterday shortly after 1:00 p.m. at Highway 142 MP 1, down the Klickitat County Park Road in the new park area.
The responding units, C-400 X1 and B-412 X1, found evidence of a campfire and garbage outside a fire pit, along with damage to the park grounds.
The volunteer firefighters utilized B-412’s hose reel to extinguish the fire and collected all the garbage left behind. This call marked the first call for B-412, an Ex-DNR wildland engine acquired through a grant.
We have made several addition to our new to us brush truck that include a white roof, brush bumper, lettering/ numbers/ striping, front/ rear chevron’s, and red emergency lights/ siren. We do have a couple items that still need to be added, but it’s in service.
