It’s a good thing dogs are so gosh darn cute as they continue to drive us crazy.
Canada’s Thunder Bay Professional Fire Fighters Association responded to a report of a dog stuck on a block of ice after it had gotten loose from its pet parent in an effort to chase a flock of geese into the harbor.
“The owner attempted to help but broke through the ice and made the right call to return to shore and contact [firefighters],” the organization writes in an Instagram post.
The dog was successfully recovered in a “safe and coordinated ice rescue” and was “brought back to shore and reunited with a very relieved owner.”
The post also cautions those with dogs to “stay off the ice and keep pets leashed near the waterfront.”
