As unpleasant as it is to be woken up by an alarm clock, we’ll take that any day over being woken up by a rattlesnake.
The City of Del Rio Police Department in Texas reports that it was called to a local residence after a rattlesnake was found underneath a bed.
“Animal Services responded to the scene and removed the snake without incident,” police say in a Facebook post.
“The Del Rio Police Department would like to remind residents that snakes commonly emerge from hibernation during warmer months, particularly between March and April,” the post continues. “Rattlesnakes may enter homes while seeking shelter, food, or relief from extreme temperatures.”
Police also advise residents to “avoid approaching any snake and allow it to move away if possible,” and to “remain aware of your surroundings, keep grass trimmed, and remove woodpiles, debris, and clutter where snakes may hide.”
Talk about a rattling experience.
