Don’t tell Syfy: Cocaine detected in Bahamas shark

While Sharknados fortunately remain a fictional occurrence, we can’t say the same for cocaine sharks.

A report published by Environmental Pollution detected the presence of cocaine in a shark studied in the Bahamas. Researchers also founds sharks with detectible levels of caffeine and pain relievers.

“This represents the first report concerning [contaminants of emerging concern] and potentially associated physiological responses in sharks from The Bahamas, pointing to the urgent need to address marine pollution in ecosystems often perceived as pristine,” the study reads.

As concerning as that might sound, we’re guessing Syfy just got a new idea for another Sharknado movie.
