They same crime doesn’t pay, which is what suspect Gustavo DeJesus Torres is learning after putting together an unimpressive haul from a New York City bank robbing spree.
AMNY reports that Torres hit six banks across multiple days, each time passing a note to the teller demanding money. His most successful heist netted him $320 from one bank, while he got away with $265 and $20 from two other locations.
However, Torres failed to steal any money at all from three other locations. With half of his attempts resulting in goose eggs, Torres’ six-bank total was just $605, which he could’ve earned working about a week at NYC’s minimum wage of $17 per hour.
Torres is currently wanted by the New York Police Department.
