While Paddington Bear came from Darkest Peru, this adorable fuzzy stowaway is originally from Southampton, England.
The Associated Press reports that a red fox unknowingly slipped onto a cargo ship otherwise carrying cars and sailed across the Atlantic Ocean to New York City.
After being discovered, the fox was transferred to the care of the Bronx Zoo.
“He seems to be settling in well,” the zoo’s director of animal programming says of the fox. “It’s gone through a lot.”
The fox has been enjoying a diet of “produce, proteins and some biscuit-like items” while receiving vet care, the AP says. No word on whether he enjoys marmalade.
