Not since the Scott’s Tots debacle has a charity endeavor gone so awry.
According to The Associated Press, two teenagers in New Zealand left a bag containing about $2,200 cash in the donation area of a local charity shop. While certainly a generous donation, the donation was actually an accident, since the bag also included something other than money: about 43 grams of pot.
After realizing their mistake — not only were they out thousands of dollars, but recreational marijuana use is illegal in New Zealand — they returned to the shop. Unfortunately for them, the shop called the police, and they were arrested.
Honestly, Scott’s Tots still might be worse.
