In this week’s Capitol Buzz Radio Headlines with John Sattgast…
The Washington Legislature wrapped up its 2026 session Thursday night after weeks of debate over taxes and state spending. House Republican leaders reflect on the final gavel, the marathon 24-and-a-half hour House debate over a proposed state income tax, and passage of the supplemental operating budget, which Republicans criticized for increasing spending and taxes.

The Capitol Buzz Radio Headlines program is a roundup of state legislative news sent out each week on Fridays during the 2026 legislative session from Washington House Republicans for broadcast on radio stations across Washington. Please note this is our final report of 2026.
