March 12, 2026 (The Dalles, Oregon) — The Women’s Giving Circle of the Adventist Health Columbia Gorge Foundation recently announced grants totaling $15,140 in support of three local nonprofits. The Women’s Giving Circle selected three nonprofits whose missions directly support vulnerable populations, families experiencing crisis, and the well‑being of animals in the region.
A gift of $2,500 was awarded to Bountiful Blessings, a volunteer‑run free clothing closet serving individuals and families in need. This contribution will help the organization continue providing essential clothing items, ensuring community members have access to year‑round, no‑cost support.
Another $2,500 was granted to The Next Door Inc. to support its Community Health Workers who assist vulnerable families. These funds will help ensure affected families have access to critical resources — including housing support, food, transportation, and social services — during unexpected and destabilizing circumstances.
The largest gift — $10,140 — went to the Columbia Gorge Humane Society to bolster security at the organization’s facility. The Humane Society has recently experienced break‑ins targeting returnable can collections, which are its largest source of funding. The Women’s Circle donation will help secure their property and protect this vital revenue stream, supporting the care and safety of local animals.
