A Long Island man is feeling relieved in more ways than one after his potty-themed license plate was saved by New York Gov. Kathy Hochul after initially being rejected by the DMV.
The New York Post reports that 69-year-old Seth Bykofsky has been driving for five years with plates that read “PB4WEGO,” which, of course, reads as “pee before we go.” Despite their long history on the road, Bykofsky was recently notified by the DMV that he had to get rid of the plates.
Bykofsky decided to reach out to Hochul, who then called him personally to say that the plates could stay.
“I think everybody should be reminded to pee before you go,” Hochul told him, adding she thought the plates were “hilarious.” “I support the effort wholeheartedly.”
“It was very heartwarming and good to know that the government stands up for our rights, not only under the First Amendment, but to laugh, to laugh at ourselves, and to laugh at others,” Bykofsky says. “It was very much appreciated that the governor intervened.”
