Italian police allege that a resident purposefully trained their dog to grab bags of trash and leave them in illegal dumping areas.
Police also posted video on Facebook of said dog trotting down a road with a garbage bag in its mouth.
“This behavior is both ‘clever’ and doubly unfair, because in addition to littering the city, it attempts to evade the rules by exploiting the unsuspecting four-legged friend,” the video caption reads. “Respect for urban decorum and the environment is everyone’s duty.”
Perhaps this is all just a misunderstanding, and the dog is just auditioning for a remake of Lady and the Tramp.
