Eagle’s heart will go on after being rescued from icy Hudson River

While Jack slipped into the watery depths despite Rose’s door possibly having enough room on it for two people, this bald eagle avoided a similar icy fate.

The injured bird was spotted floating on a piece of ice in the Hudson River by offices of the New York Police Department Harbor Unit.

“They acted quickly and brought the bird to safety,” the NYPD writes in a Facebook post alongside footage of the rescue.

The eagle will hopefully heal up quickly and return to being king of the sky, if not the world.
