Sen. Shelly Short Urges NE Washington Residents to Weigh In on Wolf Management Bill

Sen. Shelly Short is encouraging residents of Northeastern Washington to participate in a public hearing on Senate Bill 5960 this Monday at 1:30 p.m. before the Senate Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee.

The bill would require the Department of Fish and Wildlife to manage predators and prey comprehensively, ensuring sustainable wildlife populations. It calls for timely intervention when wolf predation reduces deer, elk, moose, and other ungulate species by 25% or more, and promotes collaboration with sportsmen.
