For those who want a more sophisticated cake-eating experience beyond a fork and a paper plate comes the world’s most expensive cake stand.
A new stand created by U.K. manufacturer Prop Options now officially claims the Guinness World Record title for just that with a value of around $20,000.
The exorbitant price tag is thanks to the 30,000 Swarovski crystals that decorate the stand.
“Creating this cake stand has been one of the most ambitious projects we’ve ever taken on,” says Prop Options director Brad Young. “It showcases the craftmanship, creativity and ambition at the heart of Prop Options. Achieving a Guinness World Records title is something we’re incredibly proud of, and it reflects the passion of our whole team.”
Since we’re guessing that the stand itself isn’t edible, we’ll stick with just eating cake off of the cleanest surface we can find.
