Toddler faces fears with emotional support skeleton

One might argue that the proliferation of emotional support animals is getting out of hand, but hopefully we can all get on board with the emotional support skeleton.

That’s what 3-year-old Aspen does as she carries around a skeleton Halloween decoration named Mr. Bones everywhere that she goes.

“[It was in] our Halloween decorations box!” Aspen’s mom, Isabel, tells People of the skeleton. “I brought it out of our storage room to decorate for the season, and she grabbed the skeleton out and screamed, ‘Mr. Bones!'”

As for why Aspen is so devoted to Mr. Bones, Isabel shares, “She always says, ‘Just because I like it!'” She adds that Aspen has “always had a love for different creatures.”

“She has a dead cicada in our freezer!” Isabel says, which honestly sounds like a scarier Halloween decoration than a skeleton.

As Isabel sees it, Mr. Bones is now a part of the family.

“I love it!” Isabel says. “I love that she doesn’t care what anyone thinks and does what makes her happy!”
