Dangerous Domestic Violence Call in Lyle, Washington

On September 29, 2025 at approximately 6:22 P.M., Klickitat County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to an in-progress Domestic Violence Call at 11 Appleton Road, Lyle, Washington. 

The reporting party, Alexandria Richman reported that her husband, Jacob Richman had shoved her to the ground, threatened to kill her, and pointed a handgun at her, and her mother and father. Prior to Deputies arrival to the residence, Jacob Richman fled the residence in his vehicle.  

Alexandria Richman provided responding Deputies a description of Jacob Richman’s vehicle.

While Deputies were responding to the 11 Appleton Road residence, they proceeded to search for Jacob’s vehicle, but were unable to locate the vehicle.  Klickitat County Sheriff’s Deputies, Sergeant Adam Dyment, Sergeant Randy Wells, and Deputy Brian Nicholson made contact with Alexandria Richman, along with her mother and father and a young boy, who were all inside the locked residence. They had locked themselves inside the residence because they were afraid Jacob would return and kill them.

Deputies were also informed by Alexandria that Jacob is armed with a 9mm Pistol.  Jacob had stated he will shoot it out with the Cop’s or kill himself. 

Based on this dangerous situation other Law Enforcement officers responded to assist in locating Jacob Richman.  The responding officers include KCSO Deputy Tim Neher, WSP Trooper Anthony Maton, GPD Officers Bracken Kruger, GPD Officer Dustin Vorce, KCSO Deputy Keifer Smith, KCSO Deputy Zachariah McBride along with K-9 Zeus, KCSO Detective Robert Bianchi, a trained Hostage Negotiator via telephone, the Drone Team Personnel, and the Warrant Team Personnel.

Deputy Tim Neher and WSP Trooper Anthony Maton drove the area on roads close to 11 Appleton Road and were able to locate Jacob Richman’s vehicle, they found that Jacob was not in the vehicle.  They advised Sargent Dyment and other Law Enforcement that were guarding the residence at 11 Appleton Road, that they believe Jacob Richman is heading through the woods to the residence at 11 Appleton Road.

Deputy’s Smith and McBride, using night vision were able to locate Jacob Richman sneaking through the woods toward the above residence.   Jacob was located hiding behind a tree approximately 150 yards from the residence.  Sergeant Dyment started negotiating with Jacob to give himself up.  During the verbal negotiation Sergeant Dyment was within approximately 75 yards of Jacob and told him to throw his gun down and put his hands up. Jacob refused to comply.   Law Enforcement Officers had their guns aimed at Jacob in case he decided to shoot it out with Officers.  After approximately two hours of Sergeant Dyment verbally negotiating, Jacob Richman threw his hand gun down on the ground and was taken into custody and handcuffed.

Deputy Brian Nicholson transported Jacob Richman to the Klickitat County Jail for booking on the following charges.  Jacob A. Richman, age 28, white male, height 6’1″, weight 210, eyes are green, hair is brown, was booked on three (3) Felony Counts Attempted Assault 1st Degree-Domestic Violence, one (1) Felony Count of Felony Harassment-Domestic Violence and one (1) Count of Assault 4 Degree-Domestic Violence a Gross Misdemeanor.

I want to thank all Law Enforcement Officers, Drone Team Personnel, Warrant Personnel that provided back for our Deputies. I also want to thank the 911 Dispatchers for their outstanding work in regards to this incident.

This was a Professional Job by all and no one got seriously injured or killed and the bad guy went to jail.
