Amid a discussion of crime and heinous acts of violence, Republicans are blaming a beheading committed last week in Dallas, Texas, on the lax border enforcement of the Biden administration.
On Sept. 10, Chandra Nagamallaiah, a 50-year-old motel manager in Dallas, was killed. Court records indicate that he was beheaded, with his head left in a dumpster on-site.
Police have taken into custody Yordanis Cobos-Martinez, 37, a Cuban illegal immigrant. Cobos-Martinez has a history of arrests in Texas, Florida, and California.
According to a Dallas police affidavit, the suspect—who was cleaning a room in the motel alongside a co-worker—attacked Nagamallaiah after he told him not to use a broken washing machine.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement released a statement that the incident occurred “in front of the merchant’s spouse and child,” and cited reporting that “Cobos-Martinez then kicked the head of the [victim] ‘around like a soccer ball.’”
A post on X by Homeland Security: This vile monster beheaded a man in front of his wife and child and proceeded to kick the victims’ head on the ground. Rep. Ronny Jackson, R-Texas, whose district includes parts of the Dallas metropolitan area, told The Daily Signal in a statement that he blames the incident on lax immigration policies of President Joe Biden’s administration.
“Joe Biden and every House Democrat who voted against stronger border security have blood on their hands for welcoming this evil illegal alien who brutally beheaded Chandra Nagamallaiah in Dallas,” Jackson said. “Thankfully, with the Trump administration now in charge, these monsters will be prosecuted to the fullest extent under the law, and Texans can know that their safety and security is once again a top priority.”
The offices of Biden and of House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., did not immediately respond to the accusation when contacted by The Daily Signal.
Jackson’s remarks follow President Donald Trump’s comments on the incident.
“I am aware of the terrible reports regarding the murder of Chandra Nagamallaiah, a well respected person in Dallas, Texas, who was brutally beheaded, in front of his wife and son, by an ILLEGAL ALIEN from Cuba who should have never been in our Country,” Trump wrote on the social media platform Truth Social on Sunday.
“This individual was previously arrested for terrible crimes, including child sex abuse, grand theft auto, and false imprisonment, but was released back into our Homeland under incompetent Joe Biden because Cuba did not want such an evil person in their Country,” he said of the alleged perpetrator.
Trump added, “This criminal, who we have in custody, will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the Law. He will be charged with murder in the first degree!”
