The Dalles, Oregon – The City of The Dalles Public Works Department will work on a pavement preservation project on Monday April 21, 2025 through Thursday April 24, 2025 at the following location:
West 6th Street, east of Cherry Heights Road – The eastbound lane on West 6th Street will be closed during work hours on Monday April 21, 2025 and Tuesday April 22, 2025. The westbound lane on West 6th Street will be closed on Wednesday April 23, 2025 and Thursday April 24, 2025. Expect delays.
Work hours will be 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Motorists, bicycles and pedestrians are asked to use detours around the work zone during work hours. The street will be reopened to the traveling public each evening.
Walk up business access will be open during construction. For safety reasons, parking on West 6th Street within the work zone will not be allowed until the project is complete.
The purpose of this project is to grind out the wheel ruts and replace approximately 500 feet of pavement in each lane. Crews will also grind and replace pavement in a larger area that needs to be patched. This street work is expected to restore the pavement structure and provide a smoother and safer roadway.
Please proceed with caution around work areas during construction times and observe all temporary traffic control devices. Thank you for your attention to traveling safety during this work.
