While train traffic is usually interrupted by a mustachioed villain tying a damsel in distress to the tracks, this time the problem was of the four-legged variety.
As Maine’s Alton Fire Department posted on Facebook, firefighters were called to a local railroad bridge to relocate a horse that decided to spend some time hanging out on the tracks.
With the help of two other fire houses, the Alton FD safely removed the equine obstacle from the tracks while alerting the train company to halt traffic.
Asked if they could believe the holdup, we imagine that delayed passengers replied, “Neigh!”
