Meet Whitetop, the new oldest living llama

We have a new champion in the world of llama longevity.

The snow-colored Whitetop has set the Guinness World Record for the oldest llama in captivity, both currently and of all time.

Whitetop is a total of 27 years and 250 days old, beating out the previous record-holder, the spectacularly named Dalai Llama, who set the mark at 27 years and 1 day old.

In addition to being a world record setter, Whitetop is an important part of the Victory Junction camp facility in North Carolina, where he helps bring joy to children battling serious illness.

In more ways than one, Whitetop indeed sounds like a top llama.
