If you have an empty sock drawer and a guilty-looking puppy, it’s probably a good idea to take a trip to the vet.
A 7-month-old Bernese mountain dog named Luna was treated by California’s Corona Animal Emergency Center after eating a total of 24 socks, among other pieces of clothing.
According to a post on the vet’s Instagram account, Luna’s family rushed to get her help after she started vomiting.
Along with the 24 socks, the vets recovered a scrunchie, two air ties, a onesie and even a shoe insert from Luna’s stomach and intestines.
“Luna’s story is a reminder to trust your instincts,” the hospital advises. “If you notice vomiting, lethargy, or a firm abdomen, don’t wait—act fast and contact your vet. Prevention is key.”
