The Dalles City Council tackled some big issues last night. They included voting to extend the Urban Renewal District through 2029, adopting a 20-year water plan and changing the ordinance involving short-term rentals.
Extending urban renewal will allow the agency to finish up a last round of proposed projects, the new water plan will actually cause most residential water bills to go down, at least at first. And ordinance changes mean any new short-term-rental facility will have to be more than 300 feet from the nearest other short-term rental.
