Wasco County Commissioners met yesterday with a good portion of the meeting covering regular county business. There was the first reading on a Nuisance & Abatement Ordinance and Code Compliance Penalty Ordinance update. No changes by the Commissioners which will bring a second reading to their next meeting on the 18th of this month.
There were staff reports on Finance, Fee Schedule resolution, Emergency Management and Soil & Water Conservation District.
There were three very interesting presentations in the last half of the morning session. Columbia Gorge Community College gave the commissioners and update of the programs being offered at the College with great potential of growth for them. The Dalles Little League gave an update of upgrades to Kramer Field and how they are growing with the addition of girls’ softball. Opening day is set for April 5th. They will also be hosting the District Little League tournament in late June.
The Dalles Urban Renewal gave a great presentation on the projects they are working on and how that will impact the county.
