Police in Dortmund, Germany, are on the hunt for someone dressed as Sesame Street‘s beloved Muppet Cookie Monster, who was caught on a speed camera going over the limit.
A photo of the speed demon, posted to the social platform X, may elicit a chuckle, but German police aren’t laughing.
Peter Bandermann from Polizei Dortmund tells ABC News, “We like the cookie monster. At first glance the photo looks funny. However, we have a different perspective. Because it is dangerous to drive a car with a restricted field of vision. The fun ends when someone is seriously injured or killed in a traffic accident.”
They’ve appealed to the person to come forward — or they can just give Sesame Street a shot.
