A San Francisco cop is no chicken when it comes to insuring pedestrian safety, despite looking like one.
Lt. Jonathan Ozol has taken to wearing an inflatable chicken costume while crossing a busy intersection in an effort to make drivers more aware of pedestrians, according to SFGate.
And the initiative appears to be having great results. Ozel nabbed eight drivers for failing to yield in a span of 30 minutes of the operation.
“If you don’t see someone in a giant chicken costume, then we really have a problem,” he tells the outlet.
Adds Ozel, “One more person that yields, that’s one more person that’s safe.”
