The Columbia Gorge Prescribed Fire Training Exchange will be conducting a 25-acre prescribed fire west of Conboy Lake National Wildlife Refuge on Tuesday, October 1st. This burn is being implemented to reduce wildfire risk and provide training opportunities for local prescribed fire practitioners.
Smoke is likely to be visible in Glenwood, Trout Lake and other nearby areas, and may linger into the late afternoon on Tuesday and potentially into Wednesday. Smoke is likely to impact Trout Lake Highway in the immediate vicinity of the burn on Tuesday afternoon. The burn has been permitted through the Washington DNR and will take place on Mt. Adams Resource Stewards land.
