A German woman has split with her lover of 10 years, citing the distance between them — hardly surprising since her partner was a Boeing 737-800 airplane.
Michèle Köbke tells the Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter that her love affair with the aircraft, which she nicknamed Schatz — German for darling, began after she boarded the plane and became overwhelmed with emotion.
Her most memorable moment came when she visited a hangar and kissed it, according to the outlet, which adds that she once hoped to marry the plane.
“I am simply different and stand for my love for my 737,” she shares.
Unfortunately, she says the relationship couldn’t survive the physical distance, though they remain friends.
