On August 30 Officers with The Dalles Police Department witnessed a hit and run crash near 10th and Union Streets in The Dalles. Officers contacted the suspect driver and determined that he was impaired by alcohol. During the encounter Officers located a loaded firearm, drugs, alcohol and money. The driver was arrested on charges of:
Unlawful manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance within 1000 feet of a school
Felon in possession of a firearm
Driving under the influence of intoxicants
Reckless driving
Hit and run with property damage
Recklessly endangering another person
The driver later failed a breath test and was lodged at the Northern Oregon Regional Correctional Facility.
