Tipsy toddler sparks restaurant warning

A set of parents in Hollister, California, got a scare after their 2-year-old daughter was accidentally served alcohol instead of apple juice, landing her in the emergency room.

Her parents thought something was up when they got home, and noticed the toddler staggering and slurring her words, according to KSBW-TV.

During a trip to the emergency room, a blood test revealed a blood-alcohol level of 0.12%.

The restaurant manager tells the outlet that wine was being stored inside a large container labeled “apple juice” when their server made the mistake.

“The California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control is aware of the reports and is working with local authorities to investigate,” it said in a statement obtained by the outlet.

Meanwhile, the girl’s family is urging parents to taste what’s served to their kids.
