Hood River Police seize Fentanyl and Methamphetamine in DUII stop

On August 10th, 2024, a member of the Hood River Police Department stopped a vehicle for a registration violation. During the interaction, the officer noticed several indicators of impairment and questioned the driver about any recent substance consumption. The driver denied any substance use. In accordance with the Hood River Police Department’s commitment to excellence, the the officer who has received specialized training in controlled substance impairment, simply followed their training and began the investigation.

After the drivers failure of the field sobriety tests, the driver was arrested for DUII-Controlled Substance. A search incident to the arrest of the individual revealed 36 grams of pure powder Fentanyl and 21 grams of Methamphetamine, our Officer also discovered a plastic bindle containing colored Fentanyl, designed to appeal to children. We are committed to keeping these harmful substances out of our community.
