The owners of a Connecticut car dealership have a lot of explaining to do after a couple employees took a car out for a spin without the owner’s consent and totaled it.
A man brought his 2018 Chevy Camaro ZL1E Hendrick Edition with just 989 miles on it, into the dealership for service with strict instructions that it not leave the lot.
However, in a scene reminiscent of Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, two employees took the car, worth $97,000, for a 90 mph joyride on I-95, where the driver eventually lost control and hit a guide rail, according to Jalopnik.
The owner has filed a lawsuit against the dealership seeking compensatory and punitive damages for an undisclosed amount.
