On 07/11/2024 at approximately 2:36 PM, Frontier Regional 911 took a driving complaint report for a vehicle swerving all over the road near milepost 141 on Interstate 84 westbound.
Deputies with our office located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop near milepost 123 on Interstate 84 westbound. During the course of the investigation, the driver showed signs of impairment and a field sobriety test was administered. As the driver was being placed into custody for DUII, the driver thought kicking the Deputies was the best option.
The driver, a 24 year old female from La Grande, OR was arrested for the following:
• Driving under the influence of intoxicants
• Reckless driving
• Recklessly endangering another person
• Additional charges pending
The female was arrested and transported to the Northern Oregon Regional Correctional Facility (NORCOR) on the above listed charges.
We are thankful this driver did not hurt innocent motorist(s) on our highways and glad none of our Deputies were injured. Please be responsible and do not drink and drive.
