Mission in North Portland Yields Positive Results

A mission in North Portland resulted in the seizure of a stolen firearm, seizure of drugs and numerous arrests.

On Tuesday, April 2, 2024, officers from the Neighborhood Response Teams in Central Precinct, East Precinct, and North Precinct spent eight hours addressing chronic criminal activity, livability issues and drug dealing. The officers focused on the Jantzen Beach and Delta Park areas of North Portland, specifically areas impacted by a high volume of criminal activity and calls for service.

The mission resulted in:

Arrests 13 (one involved PPB teaming up with the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office and apprehending a subject wanted for Aggravated Identity Theft and Elder Abuse Fraud)

Vehicle stops 20

Stolen vehicles recovered 3

Stolen firearms seized 1

Fentanyl seized 8 pills and 2 grams

Methamphetamine seized 29 grams

A similar mission was conducted in Downtown Portland on Wednesday, March 6, 2024. That mission resulted in numerous arrests and drug seizures. The Portland Police Bureau remains committed to conducting future joint missions in other parts of the city in an effort to address criminal activity and livability issues.
