Six initiatives to the Legislature have been certified and are likely headed to Washington voters in November.
Senator Drew MacEwen says two are related to income taxes. One would do away with the capital gains income tax and the other bans future income taxes.
The Shelton Republican says another initiative repeals the cap-and-trade program.
The other three restore a law enforcement officers’ ability to pursue suspects, protect parental rights, and allow workers to opt out of the state’s long-term care insurance program.
MacEwen says the legislature should pass all of them, but at a minimum, the Democrat majority should hold public hearings before sending the initiatives to the ballot.
