Transient Sex Offender Arrested and Released in Klickitat County

On January 31, 2024 Klickitat County Sheriff’s Office Deputies made contact with Tanner Carrico, a transient sex offender, from The Dalles was located on the 88 road, outside of Trout Lake where he was arrested for F ailing to Register as a sex offender.  He was transported to the Klickitat County Jail.

For the last two months, the Klickitat County Sheriff’s Office has received numerous reports and complaints about Mr. Carrico, near the communities of Trout Lake, BZ Corner and Bingen, WA.  His erratic behavior caught the attention of U. S. Forest Service Law Enforcement, where he was reportedly camping and harassing various park-goers in Gifford Pinchot National Forest.  

On February 1, 2024 the Klickitat County Jail received a memo from the Prosecutors Office to release Tanner Carrico immediately without conditions.  The jail staff escorted Mr. Carrico to the Sheriff’s Office where he registered as a transient.  Mr. Carrico is a level 3 sex offender and his information can be found on the Klickitat County Sheriff’s Office website.  Notifications will be forthcoming to the Trout Lake community. 

The Klickitat County Sheriff’s Office will continue to investigate all of our current cases with Mr. Carrico.  We do not take his release from custody lightly and believe that he is a danger to the community.

Tanner Carrico is 47-year-old, 5’11” White Male, Brown Hair and Blue eyes.  He is associated with a red Toyota Sienna Mini-Van.
