Customer assaults Subway clerk over sub-par sub

A Stuart, Florida, man was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly throwing his sandwich at a Subway employee because it wasn’t sliced into two pieces.

Subway worker Cassandra Pierre-Louis told sheriff’s deputies that Alberto De Barros, a 54-year-old building contractor, “became upset with her after finding out that his sandwich was not separated,” according to documents obtained by The Smoking Gun.

Following a “brief verbal exchange,” Pierre-Louis claims De Barros “began causing a disruptive scene.” After she refused to serve him anymore, De Barros threw the sandwich at her, striking her in the “mid to lower body section.”

De Barros was arrested for battery and booked into the Martin County Jail. He was released from custody on Thursday after posting $1,000 bail. His arraignment is set for February 1.
