10/20 12:40 pm update from the Wasco County Sheriff’s Office
The following is an update on the plane crash that took place on the evening of October 19. Responding units included Mid Columbia Fire Rescue, City of The Dalles Police Department, and the Wasco County Sheriff’s Office. A small brush fire burned roughly 2.5 acres and a BPA transmission line was damaged due to the crash. The pilot did not need medical treatment at the scene.

Wasco County Dispatch received a call at 8:56 PM Thursday, reporting flames southeast of Columbia Gorge Adventist Health in The Dalles. Shortly after, it was determined to be a plane crash. Mid-Columbia Fire and Rescue reported the crash occurred near Remington Road. The aircraft was a Cessna 152 with one person on board. The pilot suffered minor injuries and was transported to the hospital. The plane was traveling from Redmond Municipal Airport to the Columbia Gorge Regional Airport.
