Salem, Ore. — Starting Friday, August 4, visitors will need reservations in order to camp at two Bureau of Land Management (BLM) campgrounds in the Mollala River corridor. Visitors can make reservations for Three Bears and Cedar Grove campgrounds on recreation.gov.
“We understand that Three Bears and Cedar Grove are well loved, by both local residents and visitors,” said Amanda Hoffman, BLM Cascades Field Manager. “These changes will make it easier for visitors to enjoy these sites.”
Three Bears and Cedar Grove campgrounds will no longer have first-come, first-served campsites. Visitors will need to have a valid reservation in order to camp. Visitors will be able to see campsite availability and make same-day reservations before arriving at the campground, with a zero-day booking window.
The distinction between same-day reservations and first-come-first-served campsites created confusion for visitors and staff. By switching to a fully reservation-based system, BLM managers hope to reduce user conflict.

In April 2023, BLM officials implemented new and increased fees across the Northwest Oregon District (https://www.blm.gov/press-release/bureau-land-management-announces-recreation-fee-changes-northwest-oregon). The BLM keeps 100% of the fees to support the local recreation program. Campsites will continue to be $15 for single campsites and $30 for double campsites.
