Multnomah County District Attorney Mike Schmidt today announced that a Multnomah County jury delivered a guilty verdict for Noah Charles Smith, 37, for the fatal shooting of Kimberly Lambright and for the attempted murder of Christopher Barrett at a homeless encampment in southwest Portland in March 2021.
The trial took place in front of Judge Kelly Skye from June 20-27, with Chief Deputy District Attorney Glen Banfield and Deputy District Attorney Julian Samuels as prosecutors. The 12-person jury delivered the verdict today, finding Smith guilty of:
- Two counts of Murder in the First Degree with a Firearm
- One count of Murder in the Second Degree with a Firearm
- Two counts of Attempted Murder in the First Degree with a Firearm
- Two counts of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree with a Firearm
- One count of Assault in the First Degree with a Firearm
- One count of Assault in the Second Degree with a Firearm
- One count of Robbery in the First Degree with a Firearm
- Four counts of Unlawful Use of a Weapon with a Firearm
- Four counts of Felon in Possession of a Firearm
Smith is currently in custody and is scheduled to be sentenced by Judge Skye on July 13.
