Goldendale School District Director area boundaries were readjusted based on the 2020 census data. The boundaries have been adopted by the Goldendale Board and submitted to Klickitat County. These actions make them the official boundaries until the next census data. A detailed map and description of these boundaries can be found on the Goldendale School District website and are available at the GSD District office.
The Goldendale School Board is now ready to re-engage in the process of appointing a director from Director Area #1. The Board is accepting applications from now through March 17 with the intent of appointing a new Board Member on March 27.
Applications for Director Area #1 can be found on the Goldendale School District website or can be picked up at 604 E. Brooks St. The Board plans to interview candidates on March 23. The appointed replacement will serve until the next regularly scheduled school board election which will be November of 2023.
The School Board is seeking a candidate who is committed to board service, student focused, communicates well, has leadership experience and is dedicated to being a collaborative member of the board/superintendent team. There is a time commitment associated with serving on the School Board. This includes two monthly meetings (a work session on the 2nd Monday of the month and regular board meeting on the 4th Monday of the month). In addition, to these meetings, board members read information prior to meetings, attend state school board training, and communicate with the superintendent.
If you reside in Director Area #1 and are passionate about children and learning, please consider submitting an application for the Goldendale School Board. Current Board members or Ellen Perconti are available to answer questions. Contact 509-773-5377 or go to goldendaleschools.org for more information.
