WASHINGTON (AP) — Closed-door testimony to the House Jan. 6 committee that’s just been made public shows how former White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson described to investigators a wide-ranging pressure campaign from allies of Donald Trump aimed at influencing her cooperation with Congress and stifling potentially damaging testimony about the former president. Hutchinson recounted how Trump allies dangled job opportunities and offered financial assistance as she was cooperating with the committee. And she detailed how her own lawyer — a former ethics counsel in the Trump White House — advised her against being fully forthcoming with the committee and told her “the less you remember, the better.”
