Edey scores 21 as No. 24 Purdue beats No. 8 Duke 75-56

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Zach Edey had 21 points and 12 rebounds, and No. 24 Purdue beat No. 8 Duke 75-56 in the championship game of the Phil Knight Legacy men’s tournament. Fletcher Loyer scored 18 points for Purdue, and reserve Caleb Furst finished with 11 points and 10 rebounds. The 7-foot-4 Edey was 7 for 13 from the field and 7 for 8 at the line. He was named tournament MVP. Duke shot 36.2% from the field. Tyres Proctor scored 16 points for the Blue Devils.

Oregon salvages a win at Phil Knight, beats Villanova 74-67

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Quincy Guerrier made six 3-pointers and Willie Richardson scored five of his 19 points in the final 1:39 and Oregon beat Villanova 74-67 in the consolation round game of the Phil Knight Invitational. Brendan Hausen’s 3-pointer with 2:27 left gave Villanova the lead, 67-64 but the Wildcats never scored again. Guerrier’s sixth 3 tied it, Richardson made a free throw and made consecutive shots to end it.

No. 3 UConn rallies past No. 9 Iowa to win Phil Knight

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Azzi Fudd scored 24 points to rally No. 3 UConn past No. 9 Iowa 86-79 in the championship game of the first Phil Knight Legacy women’s tournament. Fudd had plenty of help, with Aaliyah Edwards scoring 20 points and three other Huskies reaching double-figures. Edwards was named MVP of the tournament. Iowa star Caitlin Clark had 25 points, and Kate Martin added 20. Edwards got UConn off to a strong start, scoring 10 points while the Huskies built a 20-14 edge.

Rogers has 19, No. 18 Oregon women hold off Spartans 86-78

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Endyia Rogers scored 19 points, including critical back-to-back 3-pointers in the fourth quarter, Phillipina Kyei had a double-double with career highs and No. 18 Oregon held off Michigan State 86-78 in the third-place game of the Phil Knight Invitational. The Ducks led 29-12 when Rogers scored the opening basket of the second quarter but the Spartans slowly came back behind Kamaria McDaniel, who had28 points. McDaniel hit a 3-pointer and Matilda Ekh had a steal and layup and Michigan State tied the game with 7:17 to play. That’s when Rogers, who had a career-high five 3-pointers, scored from distance, the first coming after a timeout and the Ducks regained control. Kyei scored 15 points and grabbed 16 rebounds.
