IMNAHA, Ore. (AP) — About 300 firefighters backed by air support are building containment lines to combat a wildfire in remote eastern Oregon that forced has evacuations of campers. Officials say the Double Creek fire near the community of Imnaha in Hells Canyon Recreation Area has grown to about 37 square miles. The Wallowah County Sheriff’s Office says the lightning-caused fire has prompted evacuations by campers from Imnaha south to Pallette Ranch. The fire is feeding on conifer timber stands and grass and shrub. Gov. Kate Brown has issued a declaration allowing the state fire marshal to take command.
