MCMINNVILLE, Ore. (AP) — Oregon State Police say police in McMinnville, Oregon, shot and killed a man on Tuesday. KOIN-TV reports the man who died has been identified as 69-year-old Laurence Dickson. Police say McMinnville police officers responded to a report of a possible suicidal man at an apartment building Tuesday afternoon. State police say Dickson left the building and “confronted officers,” but the agency didn’t add any details. Police say the preliminary investigation shows “at least one round was fired by officers,” hitting Dickson. Dickson died at the scene. Two McMinnville police officers are on administrative leave. Their names were not released. No other details were released. State police say their investigation is ongoing.
