On August 8, 2022 at 5:00 a.m., the City of The Dalles Public Works will begin a stormwater system manhole replacement project in the eastbound lane of W. 6th St. at the intersection of Cherry Heights Rd. The project area is expected to be completed and paved on the next day, August 9, 2022 by 5:00 p.m.
Partial road closures will affect motorists and bicyclists only. Sidewalks and cross walks will remain open during construction. Please avoid the construction area. Plan to use alternate routes whenever possible.
Business access to Goodwill, Ixtapa Restaurant and Taco Time remains open during construction.
Temporary Traffic Controls on W. 6th St.:
No through traffic on the eastbound lane of W. 6th St. will be allowed at the intersection of Cherry Heights Rd. Through traffic will detour, left turn only, to northbound Cherry Heights Rd. No right turns onto southbound Cherry Heights Rd. will be allowed.
Through traffic will remain open on westbound W. 6th St. But no left turns onto Cherry Heights Rd. will be allowed.
Temporary Traffic Controls on Cherry Heights Rd.:
No through traffic on the northbound lane of Cherry Heights Rd. will be allowed at the intersection of W. 6th St. Through traffic will detour to W. 6th St. via Chenowith St.
Full street closure will be in place from the entrance of the Taco Time parking lot on Cherry Heights Rd. to W. 6th St.
No through traffic on the southbound lane of Cherry Heights Rd. will be allowed at the intersection of W. 6th St. Through traffic will detour, right turn only, to Webber St. via W. 6th St. No left turns onto W. 6th St. will be allowed.
Traffic control and closures will remain in place until completion of the work.
If you must travel through the construction area, proceed with caution. Please observe all temporary traffic control devices. Thank you for your attention to traveling safety during this work.
