Thousands of Stranger Things fans who were eagerly waiting for volume 2 of the hit show’s fourth season had to wait a little longer when the streaming service crashed due to high volume.
According to the website tracker Downdetector, nearly 11 thousand viewers saw their streaming service crash around 3 a.m. ET — exactly when the new episodes dropped.
While that’s not a lot of people considering Netflix has some 221 million subscribers globally, that was cold comfort for Stranger Things fans, some of which took to social media to vent their frustration.
One tweeted, “Y’all I didn’t wait 3 years for this finale for netflix to crash on me.”
The final episodes of the fourth season are expected to break more records for the service. In May, nearly 286.8 million hours of the show were viewed in the first weekend of the fourth season’s release — the biggest premiere weekend for an English language TV series ever for Netflix.
