A British mom of four is set to marry a man she’s never met — because he’s currently serving up to 40 years in prison in the U.S. for murder.
Laura O’Sullivan, 32, said it was “nuts” and “crazy,” but smitten by 31-year-old convicted murderer Terrell Ravon Reese, whom she met through a prison pen pal service, after reading his letters and poetry. When he proposed over the phone from prison in Michigan, Laura said, “yes,” according to the Mirror.
O’Sullivan is planning their wedding, even though the pair live 3,560 miles apart and Reese is still serving his jail term for second-degree murder, with no chance for parole until 2030.
Laura claims Terrell didn’t pull the trigger. Rather, he was “young and stupid, in the wrong place at the wrong time and it got him imprisoned for most of his life.”
“Terrell was caught up in a lot of stuff. He does regret that he didn’t have more of a voice and went along with stuff. He wishes he’d made better choices,” Laura declares. “But he’s taken a lot of classes in prison. He goes to church, he has learned sign language. He has taught himself a lot for someone thrown in prison as a teenager.”
Despite the gravity of his crime, Laura says Terrell is incredibly honest.
