It’s only Wednesday but there’s already a candidate for idiot of the week. Houston police say they definitely attracted a few dim bulbs when laying out a bait car to crack down on car thefts.
Houston Police revealed on Twitter that two suspects decided not to just steal one of the police’s bait cars, they used a fake wrecker to do it. Police say they sidled up to the man and woman just as they were hooking up the car to their tow truck.
Authorities found the wrecker wasn’t registered, or valid, and found the duo had been using this method to steal cars in the area. Of course, the suspects were arrested and remain in custody.
Meanwhile, the police might just have a brand-new wrecker to play with — it is currently unknown what they plan on doing with it.
