Gator makes his mark on Florida home

There’s no denying the real estate market is tough, but Florida is on a whole other level because a home under construction has already found a tenant in a 12-foot long alligator.

The reptile was found by a man installing windows in the home, located in the state’s Babcock Ranch neighborhood, where homes sell for up to $1.5 million, according to the Miami Herald. The gator was removed form the home by two professionals, footage shows. A third person then helped load it into a vehicle.

It’s believed the alligator was seeking shelter from a cold front and entered through a laundry room crawl through.

“The wind closed the door and he was trapped,” project manager Matthew Goodwin told McClatchy News. “He went into every room and made his mark.”
