Who knew having dog poop on a shirt would turn out to be such a helpful thing — because that’s exactly what helped police officers identify a Miami robber.
According to a report, a woman was walking her dog in the city’s Edgewater neighborhood when, as she was scooping up her dog’s poo, a man came up from behind her, pushed her against the wall, and squeezed her neck, 850 WFTL reports.
The man, now identified as 62-year-old William Carroll, then took off with her watch, bracelets, and backpack, as someone from a nearby balcony yelled out to him.
Officers later followed up on a call about a man who fit Carroll’s description and when they made contact, they said they were able to identify him because he still had the dog poop stain on his shirt.
He was taken into custody and his identity was confirmed by the victim and witness.
Carroll is facing armed robbery and battery charges.
